The 3rd Annual 5K will take place in the Fall.
(Rescheduled!) Saturday, October 26, 2013.
Cobbs Creek Park comprises over 700 acres of forest, creek, recreational facilities and trails that border the City of Philadelphia on the east and Delaware County on the west. It is cared for by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PP&R). PP&R is committed to bringing residents who live in neighborhoods surrounding the park into Cobbs Creek to enjoy its beauty. A main focus of this work is to engage young people in healthy outdoor activities that are fun and strengthen the community.
The 5K Run
The annual Cobbs creek 5K trail race is now held in the fall. All funds raised from this event are dedicated to outdoor recreational activities within Cobbs Creek Park for children and youth. The race is designed to introduce runners to the beauties of the park, increase usage of all of its trails and facilities, and promote a safe and clean park that is appealing to all.
1 Mile Walk
This event will also feature a 1 mile walk, a great opportunity for families to get out and explore the park.
Register for the 2013 5K is closed
When I did the race I was very new to running in Philadelphia. I didn’t know about Cobb’s Creek Park, and had never run on a trail before. The run was a good introduction to trail running, plus all funds raised go back to the Cobbs Creek community, so it’s a great cause.— Julia Wrobel, West Philly Runners
